Vinous 92 - Inky purple. Powerful, smoke- and oak- spiced aromas of dark berries, pip tobacco and candied violet, along with a suave mineral topnote. Fleshy blackberry and blueberry liqueur flavors show excellent clarity and enlivening Asian spice and cracked pepper qualities. Finishes impressively long and sweet, delivering a resonating echo of candied dark berries, lingering spiciness and supple tannins.
The Alaya is 100% Garnacha Tintorera sourced from 50-year-old vines planted around 1000 metres above sea level and aged for 15 months in new French and American oak.
Intense cherry colour. Dense, shiny and satiny. A complex and intense nose. Great presence of very ripe red and black fruit, toasted and roasted notes and memories from the barrel. Spices, minerals. Concentration and elegance. The taste is a powerful and elegant. Meaty, dense, concentrated, mature. With great presence of fruit. Tannins present with good acidity. Aftertaste is very long and persistent.
