Wine Advocate 91 - The 2015 Cairanne Creation Grosset is a kirsch, strawberry and floral-dominated beauty that has plenty of texture, medium to full-bodied richness and no hard edges. I’m sure it’s smoking value. This Châteauneuf du Pape based estate continues to go from strength to strength, and they fashion a bevy of beautiful wines from throughout the Southern Rhône. In almost all cases, the wines over-deliver.
Your first glasses of the Brotte Creation Grosset Cairanne Cotes-du-Rhone Villages will be a raging success, especially if you serve them with bomba barcelonatas. They're meat, onion and spicy tomato sauce formed into a ball, wrapped in mashed potato, dipped in egg, rolled in bread crumbs and then deep fried. Top them with a dollop of aioli, your choice, and they'll be delicious like you write about. The perfect mix of fruit, lovely spice, earthy nuances and lithe tannins make the Creation Grosset ideal for meats, especially grilled and barbecued, as well as dishes mild to medium in spiciness. To that end, we recommend a Moroccan lamb tagine with some heat to it. Cheddar-bacon burgers will bring out the tannins in the wine, as well as over-deliver on the comfort food front. The winery suggests a wild mushroom risotto. We say up the ante and add some shredded duck confit. Did that blow your mind? Well, were not done yet. This brottte isn't available on the web. That's what we like to call wine wagger.
Color: Intense ruby color with garnet glints.
Nose: Intense and fruity, the nose is dominated by fresh fruit aromas and spicy notes which give great complexity.
Palate: As with the nose, the mouth is generous, spicy, with wild fruit and prune notes, toasted hints. The nice structure, with fine tannins, gives way to a long and ample finale.
