Critical Acclaim

Wine Enthusiast 95 - Earthy aromas of underbrush, truffle, wild berry, blue flower and a whiff of new leather emerge on this stunning wine. The succulent, full-bodied palate shows ripe raspberry, black cherry, licorice, clove and grilled herb alongside firm but velvety tannins. Drink 2018–2024.

Wine Spectator 94 - A firm, dense backbone of acidity and tannins shores up this red's cherry, strawberry, mint, tobacco and iron flavors. A beam of succulent acidity extends the long, spicy aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2036.

Wine Advocate - 92

Jeannie Cho Lee 92 - This is an intense Barolo with lovely palate weight filled with dark cherries, rose petals and black tea leaves. A full bodied, intense red with good color for a Nebbiolo. Tannins are very well handled and there is a softness to the finish despite the tannins being high and very firm.

Optimal structure but with already-soft tannins, and with an open, intense perfume that gives this Barolo characteristics of both power and great elegance. Complex and fragrant, can be enjoyed young but has great aging potential.
Gastronomic Accompaniment: This wine finds its best matches at the table, with first courses of prosciutto, salami, Alba beef tartare and vitello tonnato. The wine is best with second courses of red meat in general, but also grilled fish or white meats, or with hard and aged cheeses. Desserts with dark chocolate are also a good match, or it can be enjoyed as a “vino da meditazione” (a wine for meditation) by itself.
