Chanrion Cote de Brouilly 2019
Nicole Chanrion is currently the sixth generation vigneron at the helm of this family owned and operated winery. She does absolutely everything. Every part of the timeline of wine has her hand on it. And it is good, so, so very good. The vineyards are growing out of a prehistoric volcano on Mount Brouilly in the most southern part of the northern Beaujolais. Her wines deliver power and grace. Beautiful red fruit and delicate floral aromas always take me to a happy place. This bottle of Gamay from the Côte de Brouilly is the result of Nicole Chanrion’s conviction and determination.
100% whole cluster fermentation with full carbonic maceration. The wine sits for 9 months in oak foudres. Her wines are delicious in the present but also have the guts to go the distance with some age.
Dark garnet clour with strawberry aromas. Rich, with a trace of cinnamon spice and a nice finsh of red and black berry fruit, an elegant wine.
