Wine Enthusiast 92 - Intense scents of violet and iris lead the nose of this wine, along with a whiff of woodland berry. The fresh, linear palate offers Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and chopped herb flavors framed by youthfully assertive, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity.
Very expressive right upon opening with layers and layers of red cherry fruit, raspberry, rose hips, bergamot, dried violets, balsamico, tar and bonfire. The wine keeps blasting out aromas during the whole evening. Structured for the long haul with terrific concentration to the fruit and silky mouthfeel. Long and lingering finish. A wine for long term aging but there's a whole lot to like in this wine right now.
This is a Barbaresco to follow over the next 15 - 20 years. Beautiful.
