Jeb Dunnuck 93 - Lafond's 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre. It has a deeper ruby color, with hints of purple, as well as an exuberant nose of black raspberries, cassis, graphite, and licorice. A ripe, concentrated 2015, it has a great mid-palate, moderate tannin, and a great finish, and it's a gem in this vintage that's going to drink nicely for a decade.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92 - The 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape from Lafond is big, chewy, full-bodied beauty that lacks a touch of elegance, yet has serious amounts of dark fruits, toasted spices, leather and savory herb aromas and flavors. Made from 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged in 70% stainless steel and the rest in a mix of new and old barrels, it will need short-term cellaring, but drink well for a decade. Range: 90-92
Powerful and robust wine, ruby color with purple shades. It offers a complex nose of cinnamon, cooked fruits and morello cherries. After an ample and firm attack, the mouth expresses nuances vanilla and peppers which persist until the finish. It is a supple and rich wine with a very good length. The dominant presence of the characteristic Grenache in the mouth ensures the "characteristic Chateauneuf du Pape".
