Jefferson's Ocean Aged Bourbon Voyage 16
The aroma comes at you with a overall light sweetness on the nose with hints of cherry and vanilla. Like most other bourbons sweetness will be in the fore front because of the corn. I tasted my first pull neat but normally I am putting an ice cube in the glass. I was immediately hit with a nice peppery spice but nothing overpowering. I also felt like it finished lingering of pear and apples. I didn't notice any heavy saline taste or finish but there was definitely a boldness you will find in most of Jefferson's Ocean Aged runs. This is a nice bourbon for sipping and sharing with friends. I am not of a "snob" with whiskeys so if ice is your thing go for it, it opened this up nicely. Though if you wanted to mix it I would hit a rail as the price is this tends to be above average but in my book this is worth the cost. I had many questions and Aerin was patient and answered all I threw at her and made a few suggestions of things to try. Very cool overall experience and I highly recommend patronizing the Drink Dispatch!
