Wine Spectator 94 - A textbook blanc de blancs, offering a seamless marriage of chiseled acidity and rich, chalky minerality, with poached quince, hazelnut, honey and lemon curd flavors and a fine mousse that caresses the palate like raw silk. Disgorged May 2016. Drink now through 2030. 550 cases made.
Produced from 65 year old Chardonnay vines around Oger, this wine is more accessible than the more focused 2006. It offers up a nose of pear, brioche, pink grapefruit, limestone and just the slight hint of woodsmoke. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, very pure and intense. It has a great core of fruit, a delicate mousse, excellent length and tremendously long finish.
