Owen Roe Dubrul Vineyard Chardonnay 2015

( 0 Reviews )

The grapes for this Chardonnay are grown by Hugh and Kathy Shiels at their DuBrul Vineyard in western Yakima Valley. In order to achieve depth of flavor and beautifully balanced acidity, no vine ripened more than a few tiny clusters. Once in the winery, only minimal and traditional handling practices were employed to gently coax the fullest flavors of this noble grape.

The lower elevation vines produce tropical and citrus characteristics such as pineapple, grapefruit and lemon.  The upper vines have more intense acidities; these vines struggle to survive and lend minerality to the final blend.  35% new french oak and 40% malolactic fermentation contribute rich, unctuous, and complex flavors such as butterscotch, crème brûlée, marshmallow, and vanilla bean.
