With the Côtes-du-Rhône "Biography" Jaboulet Ainé starts a new era of this traditional winehouse, the conversion to organic cultivation. Beginning with the 2016 vintage, all Jaboulet wines will be organic-certified, the biography 2015 is, so to speak, the pilot project. The blend is made of the grape variety Grenache Noir, the rest is Syrah and Mourvedre. The three noble red grapes of the Rhône valley are thus united in this wine. The Biography is marked by softness, spiciness, structure and depth, a beautiful red Côtes-du-Rhône, which has a certain "Northern Rhône character" due to its high proportion of Syrah.
This wine grows on vines that average 40 years old, with some ranging up to 80 years. It offers aromas and flavours of dark cherry, red table grape, blackberry jelly and a touch of smoke. The mouthfeel is soft yet there's still some youthful tannic chew on the finish. Drink through 2020.
