Schild Estate Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018

( 1 Review )
Dark ruby, with purple, black hues. Notes of black fruited plums and mulberriessit alongside glimpses of more red fruited cranberry and goji berries. Controlledand tight. Slippery dark plum and blackcurrant fruit flavors show early on the palate and are supported by more subtle glimpse of chocolate and cocoa. Thefruit remains present throughout and rolls out to the back end of the palletencapsulated along the way by a super fine tannin structure leaving a feeling ofcontrol to the wine.

Pair with cassoulet or a toasted ham and cheese sandwich if you're feeling lazy!

Critical Acclaim

Wine Spectator 90 - Raspberry puree and black cherry flavors are the focus here, with accents of Earl Grey tea, amaretto and spice box. Shows terrific density to the tannins, which become appealingly chewy on the finish. Drink now through 2033.
Decanter 90 - Sour berries and green pepper, with a hint of violet. Rich cooked fruit on the palate, with soft tannins and a long finish.

A solid wine with great fruity notes to the nose. Excellent with pasta or on it's own. It doesn't disappoint.
