Pleasant earthy nose. Medium bodied, smooth and acidic with silky tannins, showing tart cherries with a "dirty" kiss of earth and chocolate notes. Delicious chianti.
Pairs well with pasta dishes, pizza and appetizers.
My favorite Chianti. It's got a satisfying dusty danky earthiness, but that's backed up with bracing tart cherry, blackberry, and white pepper on the palate. Medium-bodied and not too overwhelming. And from experience, I can tell you that these wines age really well -- I just had a 1979 and it was amazing!
