Juicy red and purple fruit, cedar, tar, violets, wood smoke, spice and earth burst from the glass in this rich, seductive, Barolo Santo Stefano. While the tannins are formidable now, this wine shows exquisite balance, tremendous depth, and admirable concentration on its powerful palate. Vigna Cappella di Stefano comes from the historic vineyard Cappella Santo Stefano di Perno, and it represents the cru dei cru of Valentino's single-vineyard Barolos. In many ways, the Vigna Cappella di Stefano combines the fruit-driven power with earthy age-worthiness; it's the best of both worlds.
Barolo Cappella di Santo Stefano is intense ruby red. The nose is rich and persistent, extensive and elegant. There are hints of violets and marasca cherries. On the palate, it is complete, harmonic and well balanced. This wine has great character and can be enjoyed for 25-30 years.
